Jodie Eccles joined Ginger Recruitment to head up the Hospitality division. A qualified REC recruiter, she has 11 years of recruitment experience within the Catering and Hospitality sector. Before becoming a recruiter, Jodie enjoyed a successful career in hospitality working for the award-winning Northcote Group.
Day to day, she supports pubs, hotels and restaurants with their interim recruitment needs; helping kitchen brigades cover gaps in their rotas, from sickness and holidays to peak seasons and periods of recruitment – Jodie builds long-lasting relationships with her candidates and clients.
We got under the skin of Jodie and asked her some quick-fire questions;
What’s the most rewarding aspect of your role?: I absolutely love that no day is ever the same, I’m really passionate about the hospitality industry, I love eating out and visiting new places and being ‘in the know’ so this is the perfect career for me!
Go-to takeaway dish?: Hmm I’d probably say Indian – I LOVE poppadum’s with all the chutneys
What is your favourite book?: I don’t read as much as I should, it tends to be whilst on holiday.. at the moment I’m reading ‘Mind over Muscle’ by Ant Middleton
What was your childhood obsession?: Horse riding, every opportunity I got I’d be at the stables or hacking out
What do you consider your greatest achievement?: I think I’d have to say getting on a plane by myself at the age of 18 and backpacking around Australia, riding across the outback with cowboys and sky diving over the great barrier reef
Last thing you bought?: A new wetsuit
Where would you like to be right now?: Walking along a sandy beach or riding my bike in the beautiful Ribble Valley where I live
What’s your go-to meal?: If it’s my turn to cook, I always choose Rick Steins Seafood Linguine, quick and easy to make and sooo tasty
